Archers4Tobi
Hey y’all! I’m Riley Marx and I am the founder of Archers4Tobi. I am currently a student at Texas A&M University, class of 24 A-A-A-A-A! I am also on their archery team! The reason we founded Archers4tobi was my aunt Tobi, a mother of two, a wife and a friend. Sadly, at the young age of 41, she lost her battle to cancer and in her memory I’m paying it forward. My family has had four loved ones diagnosed, two members losing their battles with cancer and two amazing survivors. I know all too well how cancer affects family and friends and I want to help make a difference for those affected by cancer.
Hi! My name is Holland Linterman. I have been doing archery for 4 years now. I first tried archery in my middle school gym class and instantly fell in love. I am currently a Junior at Nevada State High School in Reno, Nevada. This past year, I ranked #1 in the Recurve Junior Female division and made the 2020 USAT team! My ultimate goal is to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris! I also want to represent a university archery team while finishing my education. Cancer has greatly affected my family and community. Archers4Tobi is an exceptional organization and a great way to help families through this difficult time in their lives.
My name is Erin White and I’m a Senior at Monroe High School, in Monroe Washington. I’m a member of the USA Junior Dream Team and represented the USA at the 2018 World Field Championships. I have been shooting archery for 8 years and my passion for archery began when I found my grandmother Clara’s old bow. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away when my dad was very young so I never got to meet her, but shooting archery gives me a way to feel connected to her.
In the summer of 2018, cancer hit even closer to home. My dad was diagnosed with throat cancer and the hospital bills, loss of income, and constant worry have been very hard for our family. The generous support of our friends and family has been a major help in going through this difficult process.
Now I would like to pay it forward and support those in need through these troubling times. I’m excited to combine my love for archery and compassion for others to make a difference through this charity.
Hi, My name is Micah Boerjan and I’m a sophomore at Iowa State University. I have been shooting recurve for the last year and I am a member of the Iowa State Archery Team. I was introduced to archery through my sisters who now both compete on a national level. I decided that I wanted to join Archers4Tobi because I wanted to help the families of cancer patients. I know first hand how hard going through cancer can be. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was only five years old. She went through tough treatment and was cancer-free for nine years. It returned again in 2015 and she lost her battle and passed away in 2016. I compete in her honor.
I’m Alex Zuleta and live in Florida. I’ve been shooting for seven years ever since I watched the Olympics in 2012 and decided that was something I wanted to try. I am currently a third-year student at the Emmanuel.
I am now on the Senior USAT for 2020 and love how I have been able to talk with and meet people from all over because of archery. I hope to be able to help others in any way possible through this charity.
You can always find me with my various bucket hats that I wear at tournaments.
My name is Matthew Nofel. I am 21 years old and I started archery when I was 8. My first Coach and mentor was Mr. George Payton, who was a buffalo soldier. He taught me for some time, and then I joined the JOAD program. I then grew from state level to national level, eventually ranking #1 Junior in 2017. I am currently a resident athlete at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center, doing my best to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Right now I am ranked 3rd in trials with two more stages to go.
I started shooting with pink fletchings when I was young, because my Grandma Ruth beat her breast cancer in 2005/6, and my Grandma Nofel beat hers in the 80’s. Since then I have continued to shoot pink because many people in my life have been effected by many kinds of cancer. Friends, family, mentors, and Mr. Payton, will all be missed dearly.
I’m very excited to start working with Archers4Tobi and helping to remove the financial stress from families battling cancer.
Hi, my name is Liberty and I am a junior in high school, I have been shooting Olympic recurve for over a year now and my goal is to be a part of the U.S. junior team. A big goal of mine would be to compete in the 2024 Olympics. God has brought my family and I through many trials, one of them being cancer. I am proud to be a part of this organization and to shoot alongside this team. I shoot in honor of my aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother who have passed away from cancer.
Hi, I’m Whitney Jensen! I’m currently a junior at Sunrise Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona. I have been shooting for about five years now and competing for four. I started archery when I was ten years old after my grandpa had given me a few lessons for a Christmas present, and I fell in love with it! I love how this sport helps me connect with other people and their families, and hope to be able to make a difference with the friendships I have made!
Hi, I'm Gwen Murphy, a dedicated nationally ranked Olympic Recurve archer. I have been shooting and competing since 2006. I love bringing archery to the North Texas community through teaching Boy and Girl Scout badge workshops, working birthday parties and corporate events, and organizing local USA Archery tournaments. I am a senior at the University of North Texas, and have lead the UNT Archery Club for the last three years. I look forward to creating my own USA Archery club during the summer of 2020, and some day competing in the Olympics for Team USA.
I joined Archers4Tobi in order to honor my grandmother Wanda, who passed away in 2011 from breast cancer. Through this organization, I look forward to raising funds in order to help families going through similar situations. Cancer is a financial burden that no one should bare alone, and we're here to help.
Howdy! I’m Hannah Flores and I am currently a student and archer for Texas A&M University! Class of ‘23 A-A-A-Whoop!! I have been shooting competitively for more than 8 years now. I even made the 2020 Collegiate All American team my freshman year.
I joined Archers4Tobi to honor my aunt, who passed away from colon cancer a few years ago. She was young, and her diagnosis and death were pretty unexpected. It hit me very hard emotionally, and joining an organization where I can help others affected by cancer is my way of helping honor my aunt’s memory and legacy.
Hi Everyone! I’m Imogen Grzemski and I am a 17 year old Australian archer. I started archery at the age of 12 with the influence of my father trying it out and have loved it ever since. These past few years, I have been shooting in the USAT events throughout the country, and am currently making the move to Australia. Just recently, Naomi, my cousins life time best friend, lost the battle to breast cancer. I shoot with “Naomi” on my sleeve to honor her and her struggle at the young age of 31. I am honored to be a part of Archers4tobi; an organization combining the sport I love with helping the quality of life in cancer patients.
Hi, I’m Aspen Helgeson and I am currently a senior at the Vivian Webb School in Claremont. I have been a member of the Recurve Regional Dream Team, Regional Elite Development and am currently a certified Level 1 coach. My ultimate goal is to represent the US at the Olympic games.
Cancer has not been kind to my family, and I have lost people that were truly irreplaceable. It is an unforgiving disease and I am very grateful to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to helping others.
Hi, My name is Isabel Napoli. I have been shooting Olympic recurve for the past 2 years and just finished my first outdoor season as a Cub archer. I started archery after trying it out in Brian Head, UT, instantly fell in love! I am excited for next USAT outdoor season, which will be my first full season as a Cadet archer. You will always see me on the line in my Michigan hat! My ultimate goal is the 2024 Olympic Team. I am currently a freshman at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV. Cancer has unfortunately affected my family in many ways, including my mom who is a BRCA1 mutation previvor. In honor of my family, I joined this amazing organization in order to help other families struggling through cancer.
Hello, my name is Logan Armstrong. I am a student at Iowa State university and am a member of our archery team. I have been shooting competitive compound archery for three years now, competing in USA and NFAA events.
I joined Archers4Tobi because I have lost many people in my family to cancer and have had multiple family members that are close to me who survived their battle. The family member that I am named after lost her battle to breast cancer at the age of 38. I shoot in her memory, along with all the other family members that have battled cancer.
I’m Dorothy Vassantachart and I am currently a junior at Cleveland Highschool in LA. I am an archer on JDT, the Junior Dream Team for apsiring olympic athletes as well as on USAT, the United States archery team for my age division. Archery has been such a passion for me ever since I was young. Within my family, I have lost my grandmother, from whom I am named after, to cancer. She was an incredibly strong woman who raised eleven kids and was able to help them immigrate to America in search of a better life, allowing them to gain a better education and future. Her loss to my family is profound and it has inspired me greatly to partake in instances that assist both the patients and the families that this illness effects.
Hi, I'm Rory Powell and I am currently a 4th-year Chemistry student at the University of Liverpool, UK. I have been shooting for 4 years and have been shooting compound and competing with it for 2. Last year I came 2nd at the North England University Archery League Outdoor Championships. My current goal is to keep competing this year and make it onto the Lancashire County Team.
I have met so many great people through archery and I am excited to put my energy towards a great cause like Archers4Tobi and help families going through such a difficult time.
We are looking for new archers to carry our vision through to the next generation and beyond. We would love to hear from you!
